Laura & Mark

image

Laura&Mark have patiently awaited this blog… Since nearly the start of January they have been waiting until our busy weddings had been blogged and now they have the blog all to themselves…

Laura got in contact with us a while ago about doing her wedding, so we had the pleasure of meeting them both during the consultation and it came to light that Mark was the quiet and shy one whilst Laura is very bubbly and actually very funny!!

When we asked her to make Mark smile, she kindly made the rudest gesture possible, whilst this went down quite well with Mark, it’s not the usual funny face or terrible joke… But we love it! We had great fun with these two, putting them through a fitness regime, running up and down sand dunes whilst taking photographs, that’s why TEN21 are not a one-trick-pony ;) We will keep you on your toes during your shoot with us…

Laura just fits in there perfectly :)

This is Marks blue steel catalog pose!!

image

How beautiful is our coastal landscape here in Northern Ireland… Sometimes we take it for granted, but I’m still not over it. I could take photos here forever and be happy!

image

image

image

image

At the beginning it was a little bit shy and awkward giggles started to push through…

image

image

image

I love the second shot, full of love!! <3

Mark let on to be hating it, fortunately he began to enjoy it and pulled out the ROMANCE skills!! A little bit of old-school gentlemanly kissing!! Switt Swoo!!!

Don’t even think of pretending you don’t like having your photo taken on your wedding day, now we know you have the skills, you are in trouble!

image

image

Laura and Mark, you are genuinely a really lovely couple, we can’t wait to be part of your wedding. I am sure it will be full of laughs and we might even get our way with a bit of a quirky entrance to the church ;)

Thank you for choosing us,

Lotsa love,

Shelley&Ricky

David&Suzanne 2nd Half

image

So we chased David&Suzanne into the car after the ceremony, we were starting to get worried about the amount of time we had left with good light for the photographs so a stressed out me, phoned Ricky on our drive to Portrush and changed the location from a more urban kind of setting in Portrush to a beach backdrop.

Whiterocks beach has never let us down for any photographs, it is so beautiful and bright even when it’s beginning to get dark, the white sand and the rocks lift everything…

So here we go again, another lovely 2nd half to Suzanne&Davids wedding.. enjoy x

image

image

image

image

Can’t even tell you how much I loved photographing the girls, they were up for everything and very patient with me when I was climbing over rocks moving them here and there…

image

image

I love love love my 85mm lense for portraits and the girls pretty pretty faces allowed me to get the most from it… how GORGEOUS are these girls?!! Ahhhh

image

image

image

image

A little bit of Mary Poppins… if you bring umbrellas I will probably use them in the most Disney way possible…

image

image

image

image

image

image

David was looking very dashing… he’s got the stern pose down..

image

image

There is just too much testosterone floating about during the boys photos for me to handle, I am so glad to be taking photos of the girls…

Sorry Suzannes Mum… :s but I dread to think the photos that David’s dad got from the other side…

image

image

What a bunch of handsome young men, ladies, take your pick…

Except for David, pretty sure Suzanne would have something to say about that…

image

image

I’m still  completely in LOVE with this shot, I have a little copy right beside my computer like a wish for more weddings like this one…

image

image

image

image

image

image

Ricky and I both picked this photograph as our shot of the day… We love it so much…

image

image

image

Now, the reception!! We couldn’t fault a single part of this wedding. Suzanne & David had gone to so much effort with every little detail… We can only hope we have captured it in a way that reflects how cute it all was…

image

We love a bit of D.I.Y… Suzanne’s little brother gave up his camera for the evening for a prop filled photo-booth somewhat like our Bonjour Monsieur…. The guests were loving it…

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

The night ended with a massive ceilidh, the town hall floor was full to the brim with people ready to dance their socks off… A perfect ending to a perfect day…

Suzanne & David - we have enjoyed working with you both more than you could possibly know, we loved your wedding and all the details, the effort and the welcoming atmosphere that let us just do what we love most, take beautiful photos of beautiful people…

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you… x

David&Suzanne

image

We were very excited about this wedding after meeting Suzanne and David for their rowing boat engagement session. We knew from that moment that they were on the same page as us and that we could just let our creative side out a little more than with other weddings…

The wedding ceremony took place in Trinity Presbyterian Ballymoney, and then we took off to Whiterocks beach for photographs and the reception was held in Portstewart Town Hall…

I can’t even begin to explain how lovely this day was, the atmosphere was relaxed and the ceremony was really genuine with friends from England and home involved..

The highlight of the day was turning up at the town hall and seeing how much effort Suzanne&David had gone to making it their own… Origami birds, typewriters, photo-booths and lots of fancy dress…

We couldn’t have been happier in sharing in their day and for us it was our last wedding of 2010, so please sit back, relax and enjoy the first half of this gorgeous wedding :)

And a little message to Suzanne’s mummy who was so sceptical of all the nice things I was saying on the morning of the wedding (quote: you must say that to all the brides), I mean it and I hope you will see that reflected in the photos from the day… :) x

I loved the nautical colour scheme of the wedding, David’s sister made these little broaches for the girls shoes. I love a bit of D.I.Y. on a wedding, make it your own…

image

image

You might recognise Jennifer, she was playing hairdresser at The Phillips wedding which was just two days before Suzannes… She did another fantastic job on the hair for the girls…

image

I love the fact that Suzanne has her mum and dads wedding photo sitting in her room while she got ready…

image

One….Two…FRIENDSHIP DEW!

image

image

image

image

image

Zoe assured everyone she knew how to get the dress on, this was one of the funniest mornings I have ever been part of…

Fortunately Suzanne survived and Zoe did a great job of helping Suzanne get ready…

image

LOVE the order of service!! A couple of our wee engagement photographs made their way onto these so it was a nice surprise for us to see them being used…

The kiss was so fast, but we managed to snap the hug that followed! I love how tight a squeeze it was. Suzanne and David are high-school sweethearts and have been waiting a long time on this day coming… <3

image

Deborah was singing during the signing of the register, she did a fabulous rendition of “You got the love”….

image

image

I love these two wee photographs because they say so much about Suzanne and Davids friendly personalities. Suzanne’s was before she got married and David’s was just after…

image

image

image

image

I must just give the bridesmaids a massive virtual high five, because I have never seen such helpful girls… They were so attentive and made sure that Suzanne’s dress was well looked after… Ricky and I often find ourselves being bridesmaids and on this day we had one less job to do…

Please come back to see our favourite part of the day and add us on Facebook if you haven’t already for all of our regular updates :)

Chris&Lyndsey 2nd Half

So here we have it, the second half of Chris&Lyndseys photographs from their wedding which now seems like so long ago…

We have been very busy over the last while so it is great to finally get to finish off their blog for them… The photographs are now ready to be viewed through the online gallery so it’s all happening…

So sit back, relax and enjoy another chilly Northern Irish Wedding…

A wee moment together alone….

A few wee games to pass the time for the guests while the wedding photos were being taken :)

I love this wee photo Ricky got of Callum and Chris… so cute..

The beautiful Lyndsey, bride for the day…

image

The beautiful Miss Emily-Rose… <3 and my wee cousin…

image

The gorgeous Rachel….

image

The stunning Sarah…

image

image

image

image

image

This wee photo made me laugh so much. Emily-Rose was very cold outside as this wedding was on the 28th December. The snow had gone but there was still a chill in the air and her cheeky big cousin was making her stand outside for yet ANOTHER photograph…

What would a wedding be without your wonderful guests….

image

After the shots outside, Chris&Lyndsey wanted to go and do some bridal suite photographs… What better way to get warmed up… TOASTY…

I love these last two wee photos through the mesh material… so romantic.

We had a great day at Chris&Lyndseys wedding and we can only thank them for allowing us to be part of their big day. You both looked fantastic and we hope you love love love your photographs… :) Expect a little email very soon x

Chris&Lyndsey - First Half

So here it is, the Phillips/Smyth wedding. A wedding that was long awaited by many folks…

Lyndsey had hoped for a white winter wedding, as unpredictable as the weather is here, it was actually looking like the chances of snow were high. But the big freeze unfroze, and everything turned to mushy slush… As important as these things may seem before your big day, it really doesn’t matter, by the time you are ready on the morning, all you want to do is see your groom….

image

So, we are ready to let you take a peak into the wonderful wedding that was the Phillips wedding… Keep your eyes peeled for photographs taken by Gillian Higgins. She came with me on the morning and to the ceremony of this wedding to see how she liked it…

She loved it.

image

image

iPhones to the rescue… Google search, ‘How to tie a double windsor?’

image

image

Jennifer was the hairdresser for the morning, she did all the girls’ hair and they were all looking fantastic. Miss Emily-Rose really enjoyed it and couldn’t help having a little peek now and again…

image

image

Lynsdey was so organised for the day she was able to just sit and enjoy having her hair and make-up done…

image

As it was a Christmassy time for a wedding (just 3 days after) We tried to bring a little bit of a festive feel to some of the details….

image

Chris had this beautiful bracelet made especially for Lyndsey for the day… I loved it! Perfectly romantic and I am sure she can wear it after the wedding it’s much to pretty not to. If not, I might steal it… ;)

image

The beautiful flowers… <3

image

Miss Emily-Rose was getting some cuddles from Ethnie (mother of the bride)…

image

image

image

image

While Lyndsey was having the final touches to her make up, she gave all her girls little gifts…

image

The girls were thinking about heading out in the bathrobes, sure why not!!!

Who needs wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses.. It’s what’s on the inside that counts…

Unfortunately, there was nothing on the inside of the bathrobes so they got changed…

image

Love, love, this photo that Gillian took.. There were a few more great ones but due to constantly over cramming the blog I had to choose one. And this was it.

She managed to sneak up on them without them noticing, I think she’s used to this because of her little Olivia.

image

A cracking speech…. unlike anything we’d heard before, good job Chris!

image

Gillian also got this photo, you can see the Christmas lights twinkling on the window as the car comes around the corner… <3 Lovely

image

image

image

image

image

This is the moment Chris’ Mum said how proud she was of her son and lots of other lovely stuff…. photographers dream!

image

Ethnie is clearly a very sentimental person.. there are so many photos all over the house of everyone that she loves. Gillian and I both melted when we saw this little arrangement at the top of the stairs. I love all the different frames and vintage photographs… WIN!

image

image

This photo made me laugh so much. Gillian was hilarious on the morning of the wedding. She had this idea for a photo, but unfortunately the door wasn’t playing ball. What’s a woman in distress going to do? Ask the MAN of the house of course…

It’s not as if he had a million other things to do, but Gillian sweet talked him and got her way, she even got a photo of James doing manly things on a girly day. So I think this deserves ultimate brownie points…

image

And this is the little photo, I think its brilliant. Lyndseys last few moments of being engaged….

image

image

image

A wee bit of excitement as it’s all about to happen…

image

image

image

image

image

image

The flower girl and the two little boy ushers are extremely good looking I hear you say….? Must be because they have a gorgeous photographer for a cousin.. ;)

Lots of love to my wee Scroggie cousins, Emily-Rose, Glen, Kyle & Caleb… (I would get shouted at if I didn’t put something nice up about them but I do really love them)

There are still more photos to come from this wedding, please come back for more :)

Mark&Gillian - Engagement Session

image

So if you all cast your minds back to the time that we were all complaining about the snow being so inconvenient and wishing it would just back off, there was a little Gillian who happened to be wishing harder than all of you put together that she would get a snowy engagement session…

We were so happy to have been photographing this session at Galgorm Manor, I couldn’t force myself out into the snow without good reason, lack of motivation and I am not really into doing landscape photography so much so I found no need to take photos. But there was a wee tinkle in my toes to photograph some lovely people in the snow…. so here they are.

image

image

image

image

Gillian and I were in the same year 8 form class at Cambridge House Grammar school, so we have actually spent quite a few years together. I really love how what we are doing with TEN21 is bringing people back into my life, who I wouldn’t normally see unless it was randomly bumping into them in town….

Gillian is one of the loveliest bubbliest people we have photographed… even Ricky said so :p

Mark is however, Gillians knight in shining armour. He is just one of those tall, dark and handsome kinda guys and Gillian was not letting him go anywhere. She was the one who pulled some moves at a wedding and managed to blag a little date out of it…

Then this happened!!!

image

This was the exact spot that mark proposed so we thought we would do a reenactment just for fun… I think they both play their roles convincingly..

image

image

image

image

image

I LOVE THIS ENGAGEMENT RING!!! It’s similar to my big sister Stephanies. I think I love the timeless vintage style rings :)

image

image

image

image

image

image

We end this session with a big THANK-YOU to Gillian and Mark for considering us for their engagement photos… They are getting married at Galgorm Manor, they got engaged there and they had their engagement photos taken here so it really will be that wee spot that holds a lot of special memories for them, glad we could be part of it…

A wee secret for you all, we were warned that this would be the worst session we have ever done as they are both terrible in front of the camera, apparently they don’t have any good photos of themselves together…  I think we can safely say, that was a little bit of a fib! :) x

Dave&Tanya - First Half

Oh Me Oh My!!

This is a very long blog post and it is only one half of this gorgeous wedding…

You couldn’t have asked for better wintery weather than what Tanya&Dave had for their wedding… We all had to endure treacherous driving conditions but we made the most of the time we had in the snow and I am so happy that we were asked to be involved in this wedding… It was the 23rd of December, a busy time but there was a real Christmassy feel about the wedding…

I have kept the family waiting for long enough, Adeline and Lynn, this blog is crammed full especially for you two…

image

image

I loved Tanya’s hair, if you read the blog and can remember their engagement session earlier this year, you will notice that it was a complete change of hairstyle..

Perfect for the style of the wedding…

image

image

I had to be careful how many photos to put up of Tamia, this could easily have been a post on Tamia because she really loved the camera and was a brilliant flowergirl, very well behaved and she even got to play in the snow…

image

image

image

image

Deborah and myself kept bumping into each other all over the house on the morning of the wedding. She kept trying to hide from me because she was wearing a dressing gown.. but you will see on down the blog that she came to embrace the camera in her gown…

image

image

Tamia’s mummy Adeline ready the secret message from Tanya inside her little present…

image

image

This is Bud aka Alistair… Best Man for the day… He is also a pretty brilliant artist :)

image

Phil needed a wee hand with his tie… No wifey Faye to help him out today..

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Auntie Glenda the fashionista helping Tamia keep her curls for the day….

image

image

image

image

Tanya was left in the house all alone while the cars took the girls down to the church.. Her mummy gave her a wee letter and told her to have a read.. It was a really sentimental moment and I nearly cried when Tanya was reading it.. All this wedding malarkey is going to have me on edge…

image

I loved this little decoration in the foyer of the church… So Christmassy!!

image

image

image

image

The paparazzi were waiting…

image

image

You will probably notice Phil, Tanyas older brother, seemed to have some mysterious magical powers on the day. He was somehow able to be sitting at the front of the church waiting for Tanya and also walking her down the aisle…

This is because Tanya’s biggest brother wasn’t well on the morning of the ceremony and couldn’t make it. The time of year seems to make everyone a little bit sick..

So Phil the noble hero stepped in, and he fulfilled all his duties of the day extremely well… He also let Ricky and I kip at his house the night before the wedding because of the icy roads. Thank you very much Phil&Faye…

image

image

Dave’s first look at Tanya… Licking his lips can only mean good things… ;)

image

image

image

Tanya’s stepdad was the one marrying them on their special day. Little things like this only make a day more special and it made their ceremony much more personal and relaxed…

image

image

Please come back for the second half of this blog post… It is full of snowy snowy photographs….

Wedding Journal....

image

Hello Everyone…

So it was only two years ago that I was sitting working a crappy job knowing that all along all I wanted to do was take great photos for lovely people who appreciate it. I was flicking through this magazine and came across some amazing inspirational photographers like the well known “Janine Walker” and “Paula O’Hara”…. Their work just pushed me to believe in myself that I too could take beautiful photos… We can honestly say we have been inspired by their work but we have taken a different angle on our style of photography. Who says what the rules are… We just believe it is really important to be inspired but to make it your own. It would be too easy just to do the same thing as everyone else. We want to continue this year, to push ourselves with the creativity and look for inspiration but make it OURS… TEN21’s little stamp…

If you have bought the latest issue of the Wedding Journal magazine you might have spotted our little advert…. This is just another wee step in the right direction for us. Let’s spread the word of our passion for great and original photography…<3
