The Campbells Family Session

image

This wee session has been sitting on the hardrives for a while now, it was a special session a gift for and completed on, Mothers day. We got up early to go meet this family, and seriously, I was not expecting them to all be so flipping good looking.

These three girls, are so lucky to have such lovely parents, who support them in their dreams. When talking to the girls, Emma has a real interest in photography, whilst studying at university in a totally different area. Her parents are 100% behind her in what she wants to do which is something that you don’t see all the time. I am lucky enough to have had parents who just wanted my sisters and I to be really happy and follow our dreams, so it was just nice to see that happening within this family.

The girls surprised their mum with this session, and I have heard nothing but good things from her about the photographs, so well done girls. I think this was a really great present.

Three beautiful sisters, two of them twins, and not only are they lovely on the outside, they are really great girls with lovely friendly, welcoming personalities. With so many photographers around at the minute, we feel privileged that the girls chose us to create these special memories for them… Thank you!! <3

Keith&Bonita - Titantic Quarter Engagement

image

This engagement session was planned for quite a while before the new Titanic building was finished, so how coincidental that we would have arranged it for the opening date of the building. So we didn’t happen to get in close to the new building, but in actual fact, where the real Titanic Quarter lies is not in a new building. It is the buildings surrounding it that are steeped in history.

Keith&Bonita live in Belfast and they love the city, so they wanted to go to one of the most iconic areas for their engagement session. I am so happy that we did this, it is something that is beautiful and full of love, with a landscape a little different to our usual settings. We hope you both love these little images, and even though your new apartment doesn’t have a view of Harland and Wolf, these little photos will hopefully bring all the Belfast love you need. We had such a great time with you both, we are very much looking forward to your wedding in July <3

Lindsay&Grace

image

It seems an awfully long time ago that I jetted off to London by myself to shoot an engagement session with Lindsay and Grace. They had the idea, that as they both live in London that it might be nice to have their engagement session there. A little reflection of who they both are, and what they love about London. You will see from the session it is a lot of the main sights in London that we visited, including a very recognisable bridge for those of you who watch the apprentice :)

Blogging this session now is quite apt as we are heading off to London on Friday again, to shoot a wedding of a wonderful couple from here but who have set up home in the big city. (Karen&Gypo we cannot wait!)

We have been working alongside Lindsay&Grace since the engagement session and we cannot believe it is only 16 days until their wedding.. We are really looking forward to it as we know some of the little secrets that lie ahead for all the guests already. It is sure to be an amazing day….

An extra special thank you to my buddy Ben who joined me on this excursion and allowed me to stay at his house. As I had no idea where I was going, he got up super early along with me at 6am just to pretty much hold bags and coats and follow us around. He was however, rewarded with some yummy food. Thanks Ben!!

Enjoy x

So folks, we are now back into the office for a couple of days before whisking off to London to photography our friends wedding. We were out since last Friday shooting weddings, so now is your perfect time to give us a wee shout if you need anything before we head away for the weekend. We honestly had such a great time at all our weddings over the last week. They were honestly just so relaxed and we got on with you all so so well, which we never doubted. We hope you all have safe honeymoon trips together, and can’t wait to share your photographs with you when you all return. I have managed to gather a few photographs from a recent engagement session with Sarah&Stephen. Their wedding is in May, so not long to go now. We love these engagement sessions as they allow us to have time with you before your wedding, to show you that there is nothing to worry about and this is exactly what this session did for Stephen who was dreading the photographs. Honestly, when I look through these, some of them are definitely print worthy for our office. We got the perfect weather and when there is chemistry between a couple, there is little else we need to do.

Thanks so much for spending an hour with us, we hope you both love these images and we are really looking forward to your big day. A little secret, the last image is one of my favourite I have ever taken…<3

There is no bigger compliment than being asked to photograph a newborn baby. These memories are for a lifetime. So when Vicky asked us to take photographs of her first wee baby little Hayley, we were very very excited. I think the photographs do the talking, how much Victoria&Rick absolutely dote on her, and I don’t want to spoil that by gushing too much.

Vick&Rick you know we think the world of you guys, you are so genuine, and we hope you treasure these wee photos forever, and that we can continue to record your family grow in the future… <3

Sue&Stephen - Engagement

image

So here we have Sue&Stephen making their way onto the blog…

This is the most beautiful beach in Northern Ireland, *that I have found so far* I know it will be a lot of other peoples too, and for Sue and Stephen is actually where they got engaged.  Stephen cleverly tricked Sue into going for a walk on Whitepark Bay one evening with her friend. Little did she know he was lurking somewhat like a stalker in the dunes, awaiting her arrival, to give her the best gift ever. A ring he had made personally for her, something which you can’t buy in just any old jewellers. And of course, with the gift of a ring, he needed an answer in exchange, which was obviously YES!

These two were telling me about how they don’t have many photographs together. A story I hear far too often. So we approached the shoot with a nervous little Sue, and from there we created this. There are a few of these images, I would love to have made up and framed, just love the light and of course, how Sue&Stephen were in front of the camera, would have put some of our best clients to shame ;) Ha! Just kidding!

But enough of me, more of the photographs, we hope you enjoy this moody beautiful location…

Maria&Christopher - Wedding 2nd Half

So it is the 23rd of March and it is Rickys birthday, I had this little blog sitting to go yesterday but we were in a mad rush to get away to have a little gathering with Rickys friends as we are busy out shooting all weekend (the usual for most photographers).

Before I talk about the wedding I thought I would show Ricky a little bit of love, this business is more often represented by me through the blog and Facebook, but it could be easy to forget that Ricky plays a big part as he often lets himself hide in the background. He is a great photographer, in actual fact he has taken some of my favourite TEN21 photographs, which you can see if you even pop into the office. He does all the album work, and he helped his dad build the best desk in the world in the office. He is a very talented drummer, and that would be his dream job. Don’t get me wrong he loves taking photographs, but drumming is his “thing”. If anyone wants him in their band or to bang some drums, let him know, any excuse. He might not be the most vocal but he is kind hearted and I don’t know any one who doesn’t like him. Our brides all tend to just think he’s great and of course the groom and his men, never fail to half a laugh with Ricky. He’s just the wee all rounder. Happy Birthday Ricky.

Anyway back to what this blog is all about, some photographs. The follow up to the morning and ceremony from Maria&Christophers wedding. This was our first wedding this year, and it what a good looking bunch to be taking photo. As usual it was raining so we decided we would stop off at Castle Coole and it was so worth it. What a beautiful location to shoot. If every venue had something like this we could manage the bad weather so well and still have natural light for photographs outside in the shelter. Wishful thinking…

We had met Maria not too long before her big day, she came across so quiet when she came to meet us, so on the big day I was not expecting her to be so funny and outgoing. Putting people in their place and making sure everyone looked perfect. She even had time to squeeze in a little PC Plod walk shouting “allllriiight guvnaaa” which I honestly can say we were not prepared for at all so it made Ricky and I laugh a hell of a lot. She is the picture of perfection and her down to earth nature really made our job so much easier.

Moving along into the evening, we weren’t expecting it, but Maria&Christopher, were welcomed into their reception as Mr&Mrs to the sound of “another one bites the dust”. This definitely put everyone in a good mood and just reflected the fun that was yet to come in the evening. Maria is a very successful Irish Dancer, she toured with Riverdance, so it was only right that she would provide some entertainment in the evening for the guests with the kids from the dancing school. We weren’t going anywhere and stayed until the bitter end to witness a bride doing a wee jig and a bit of tap dancing in her dress. Maria pulled it off, she was so happy and all the guests just loved it, as did we.

Thanks for choosing us to document your wedding day, we really had such a great day, and as our first wedding of 2012, we hope we did you proud :)

Colin&Victoria Engagement

image

We met Victoria and Colin after a lot of confusion about which part of Helens Bay to meet at. Eventually we found them and it was all worth it to meet the cutest little basset hound called Sherlock.

This wee session was short and sweet, and although the sun looks warm, it was another deceivingly cold day. You can’t really go wrong down round Crawfordsburn, it always looks beautiful even if it is raining. But beware, do not go here unless you have a dog, you totally won’t fit in… :)

Maria&Christopher - Wedding

image

Maria&Christophers wedding was our first wedding of 2012. It is hard to believe it was already nearly a month ago. Time is flying out of reach far too quickly these days, but what better a way, to relive the day, than through a little blog.

I managed to find the house which was in Lisnaskea quite easily. I knew which house it was straight away when I saw some bridesmaid hair poking through the door, and a little wedding day balloon blowing around in the wind.

I was welcomed into the family home ever so enthusiastically by Marias sister Shauna and Claire her bridesmaid, and I knew from that moment it was going to be a great day. I can’t tell you how relieved I feel on the morning of a wedding when I am offered a wee cup of tea and made to feel at home. It makes my job a million times easier, so thank you girls.

I walked into the house looking for Maria, and heard a muffled shout “HELLO SHELLEY” Maria was shouting from the toilet… She emerged, and I literally just gasped.

She was absolutely stunning, no need for a white dress, this girl could have walked down the aisle in a bin bag and blown everyone away…

The day went without a hitch, we managed to escape the bad bouts of weather that tried to hold us back. We didn’t manage to get the infamous photograph on the jetty at The Killyhevlin, once again, the rain just didn’t allow us, but we went to Castle Coole which was absolutely perfect for this wedding.

Enough of the jibber jabber from me though, I am sure you want to have a wee peek at this beautiful wedding, so let’s begin with the morning and the ceremony to start off. I will hope to have the second half ready very soon…

I loved these suede shoes, they were absolutely perfect wedding shoes in my opinion, although, when I saw the suede I was filled with heartbreak that they definitely would not look like this at the end of the day.  With lots of care, the literally looked the exact same apart from the soles at the end of the day, when Maria, kicked off her party shoes, for her dancing shoes… more will be revealed in the next blog…

Neil&Naomi - Mussenden Engagement

image

So here we have another lovely little engagement session, in ye old faithful north coast. A home away from home, such a beautiful place to take photographs. Every time we go there we find a different way to photograph things… Just how we like it.

Neil&Naomi got engaged here, right in the middle of the Downhill Estate. Such a beautiful place to ask the big question. And how great, that we were asked to go back with them and take some photographs for them. Neil&Naomi had no problems in front of the camera whatsoever, as you can see.. We got off to a bad start when we didn’t have the right communication tools, and technology messed us around. I prefer to see this misunderstanding as a greater power, trying to sway us towards some beautiful weather and pretty skies. The beautiful landscape surrounding this area could be seen for miles. I think Ricky and I are constantly seeing our wee country in a different light the more shoots we do with couples in big locations. Trying to portray how beautiful these places are through a lense, is sometimes more difficult that you would imagine, however, I am so pleased with these wee photos. It does help when you have a couple so obviously in love in front of you…

p.s. top secret, but my mum used to babysit little Neil and his big brother Andrew when he was a white hair little bubba, unfortunately all the baby photos are at home in Ballymena. I can confirm he was very cute indeed, without mortifying him with evidence. Thanks for asking us to do this for you. That’s special…

Neil&Naomi, thanks for your patience with us and our techno error, but I think we all know it was worth every minute wasted… <3

Maurice&Kelly

image

So last Saturday, we went for a little walk around Hillsborough Park with Maurice and Kelly. These two are getting married in June this year. They braved the elements which were out in force. Mainly the coldest wind I have felt in quite a while. There was a little twinkle of sunshine, which was simply for aesthetic purposes, it didn’t warm us a bit. The photographs we got from this little session were lovely none the less…

I might have blogged too many photographs of the amazing tree which sat over the lake (which Kelly and Maurice bravely climbed - thank you). But they risked their feet getting wet and a whole lot more, so I feel it is ok to show a good few…

Hope you are all having a lovely Friday, feet up, relaxing for the weekend… enjoy x

Gareth&Shirley Dunluce Castle/Whiterocks

image

Our first stop for Gareth& Shirleys engagement session was Dunluce Castle, where Gareth proposed. Shirley told me how they began to plan their marriage in the middle of Dunluce Castle, and I was so excited at the thought of outdoor ceremony photographs. Unfortunately, due to our unpredictable weather, this idea was no longer an option, as it has no roof ;)

This just meant, we could shoot the engagement session here anyway so it was not a loss to us. We love Dunluce Castle, and the views from it. Just one of many treats the North Coast has to offer.

I would say I feel like I have known Gareth for a long time, but its because we have seen each other over our school years through mutual friends. He was in the same year as my big sister at The Academy in Ballymena, and we shared the same bus home the odd time. What a great feeling when he got in contact about his wedding last year. We were introduced to Shirley at our consultation (coffee and chat), we all got on so well. Another little match made in heaven…

So here are some photographs of Gareth and Shirley. Happy Valentines day folks…

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

So a short drive around the corner takes us to one of the most beautiful and under-rated beaches in Northern Ireland. I think because a lot of us have grown up with the North-Coast as a holiday destination for most of our summers, we tend to stop seeing the beauty of this beach in the light that someone who had never visited it would see it.

Whiterocks - just so you know, we love you…

Thanks Gareth&Shirley for such a great way to spend way too many hours shooting your engagement. We know your wedding day is going to be great just because of how we all get on so well :) We can’t wait for it…

If you are still haven’t booked your engagement session with us and are getting married this year, please do so as soon as possible, as we only have limited availibility for the complimentary sessions :) First come, first served folks…

Craig&Catherine - Wedding Second Half
It is finally here. The second half of Craig and Catherine’s big day before Christmas 2011. What a gorgeous wedding it was. From the dresses to the flowers, and the venue, everything was just beautiful. Catherine has sent countless messages through to us thanking us for her photographs, what she seems to forget is that we didn’t make her wedding what it was. Craig and Catherine made their day what it was… So here you go TEN21 readers, a long blog full of photographs from another beautiful wedding…

And a sixpence in her shoe...

image

Genna, one of my Christmas brides had a little sixpence in her shoe for luck on the day of her wedding. I had heard this phrase before but wondered where this came from, and so did her groom. So I googled a little bit for an explaination and here is one I am pretty happy with:

The next line of this old saying actually hints at its origin. The complete phrase is:

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

A sixpence is a coin that was minted in Britain from 1551 to 1967. It was made of silver and worth six pennies. So this wedding tradition is definitely English, and many sources say that it began in theVictorian era.

Each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. If she carries all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be happy. “Something old” symbolizes continuity with the bride’s family and the past. “Something new” means optimism and hope for the bride’s new life ahead. “Something borrowed” is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride. The borrowed item also reminds the bride that she can depend on her friends and family.

As for the colorful item, blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, “Marry in blue, lover be true.”

And finally, a silver sixpence in the bride’s shoe represents wealth and financial security. It may date back to a Scottish custom of a groom putting a silver coin under his foot for good luck. For optimum fortune, the sixpence should be in the left shoe. These days, a dime or a copper penny is sometimes substituted, and many companies sell keepsake sixpences for weddings.

So there you go, something a little interesting for today…

Craig&Catherine - Wedding

image

Oh goodness me, I have just finished uploading the photographs I wanted to share to this blog, I just kept adding more and more… I hope you will forgive me once you see what a beautiful wedding this was. As soon as Mr Skene asked us to be involved in his wedding we had great expectations, we were introduced to Catherine for the first time at her family home for their engagement session and from there we knew this was the a winning combination for us.

You see, these two are not only very handsome/beautiful, they are genuine and kind hearted people. They think of others before themselves.. This is a quality that is becoming harder and harder to come across these days, but these two have created the perfect partnership. Both ready to put each other first, which is probably the key to a successful marriage.

Ricky and I always send each other the odd text in the morning updating each other of our eta and just general info. I received a few very excited messages from Ricky when he was at the church in the morning. Something along the lines of, “this is AWESOME, it looks amazing” It is not like Ricky to get too excited, so I knew it had to be something good. On arrival, I had a wee peek through the curtains, and there it was, a stage full of Northern Irelands more talented musicians. I couldn’t believe my eyes..

I couldn’t even describe the sound, words would not do it justice. So I won’t try..

I hope this blog gives you just a little feel for their big day. It was a pleasure to be involved in it, so much so, we decided to hang out there all evening. The second half is coming soon as well, so please do come back and have a wee look…

Enjoy x

A year in photos <3 2011 <3

So we are now into our second week of 2012 and its all gone quite hectic. We didn’t get much time off over the Christmas break, so we are catching up on editing, album production, out and about shooting and doing all the other things that a business needs to catch up on after one long year…

Whilst we are excited about 2013, there is a whole lot of stuff that has to happen before then, ie: 2012 ;) We have just about got our new brochure ready now, so a kind message to all of you who are hoping to book us for 2013. We have only booked in a few weddings so far, so if you can grace us with your patience for just a wee tad longer we will be ready to roll with all the information you should need, and we can start arranging meetings in our brand spanking new office, that it is now pretty much ready…

Anyhow, more about 2011 for now. As we were looking back through the photographs of all the weddings and engagements last year, we were just reminded of how great all you couples have been. This can be a challenging job at times, but so rewarding.. You lot have been our reward. Some of you have become our friends, some already were, and we hope that this is not the end of our contact with you. We already know a few of you brides are expecting little babies, and we are so delighted for you. I hope that when you all look through these photographs you will see that you were part of something a wee bit special.. We hope that all of our 2012 clients look through these images a just get a wee bit more excited about what this year holds for them..

We have to just thank you all again for your understand and co-operation throughout the year, for being so wonderful and “dead on”…

Here’s to 2011…

Johanna&Mark

Hi everyone, welcome to a little short and sweet engagement session that took place in Botanic Gardens and Queens University. We literally dodged the weather on this session as Belfast decided it was going to cloudy one minute, then sunny or pouring the next… oh and at the very end of this session, HAILSTONES! What on earth is going on? But regardless, Johanna and Mark, didn’t complain about it once, probably because we took shelter in the amazing palm house for quite a while and then ran on around to the newly built part of Queens for some more shelter. Johanna told me she was a bit nervous at the start of this session, but as long as you are together with your other half you will always be ok… So here are a few of my favourites from this wee session. Johanna and Mark, this is your first time seeing them.. we hope you guys love them..

image

image

A lot of patience from these two for Ricky to click this little photo - a few kids were enjoying running around inside, it took about ten minutes to get the shot haha…

image

image

image

image

In the photo up above you can see the engagement ring on a little white flower, we were a little worried it might fall into the flowers, and it did. But it landed on this little perfectly heart shaped leaf just as it is shown above.. Aw!

Thanks for sticking out this little session despite the weather :)

I took this image at the very end, when we ran for shelter over at the student union while it was hail stoning. Pretty spooky but such a beautiful building… Sigh* we love queens…

Matt&Lisa... 2nd Half

Sorry it took a few days to get the second half of this gorgeous wedding onto the blog.. It is certainly worth the wait anyhow, with the help of a close friend/sisters sister-in-law, we were able to get hold of a vintage vespa, a 1969 piece of awesome!!

Lisa had told me the style of the wedding previously and I thought I would get something to add a little fun to the photographs. Thanks to Stephen and Allana for all your help on this one :) I hope you guys like that you had a little part of this gorgeous wedding, I know you will Allana.

So here it is, the second half, what was a chilly day, but had the most amazing light. This is what we just wish for in the cold months, that low lying sun just works a treat. We had a lot of fun with you all, and thanks for sticking out the cold..

Enjoy folks..

Matt&Lisa... 1st Half

image

A wee while back, we had the pleasure of being invited to be part of Matt&Lisas big day. A day that so many people waited for knowing that it was the little missing piece of the Matt&Lisa jigsaw puzzle. Everyone who knows these two, know that they belong together… So the fact that we were there to capture the biggest day in their lives so far was a very big compliment.

Lisa is absolutely stunning, I have always thought she looks just like an angel. She is completely unaware of her beauty which just adds to it… Add Matt to the mix and you have a pretty hot couple…

Matt&Lisa surrounded themselves by their nearest and dearest on their wedding day, the sun shone, and the joy that was shared on their day was quite apparent…

I hope you all enjoy a little insight into the first part of Matt&Lisas wedding day, they have happily allowed me to share it with you all…. <3

Babs&Philip - 2nd Half

The weather was a bit touch and go, a few scattery showers, but our hat must come off to Babs and her brides maids. No rain was going to stop them from going outside, and it paid off. We headed down the road from the reception to get the bridal photos before bad weather forced us back to the hotel. The smiles never left Babs and Philips faces, even as the rain was pouring down and this made for some great photos!

So here it is, the second half…Enjoy!

Babs with her gorgeous brides maids, who are probably the most helpful and tentative brides maids we’ve ever met!

image

image

image

Babs you are stunning, I have already had a few people comment on the first half of the blog about you. Gorgeous…

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

‘Wedding day bumps’, nearly the ‘wedding day backflip onto the grass face first!’

image

image

image

Babs was actually sprinting to the car at this point…Even on her wedding day, Babs fitted in a quick bit of cardio, thats dedication!

image

Unfortunately the rain became too heavy, so we had to head inside to finish up the rest of the photos…Hotel lighting can be so tricky at times, and we couldn’t be happier with the shots we got indoors.

image

image

image

image

image

Moving to the dance floor and the party really got started, everyone was up dancing from the smallest kids to the old folkies! Normally it takes a good 4-5 songs for the dance floor to warm up at weddings, but uh no! Not this wedding. Straight away the floor was packed, and everyone was a having a great night!

image

Babs & Philip, we can’t believe the day has been and gone, after meeting you so long ago thinking the wedding day was so far away and now its passed us. We are so pleased that you chose us to be part of your day. We had a brilliant time getting to know you both and your willingness to brave the rain paid off in our eyes. We hope you are settling into married life together very well, and we wish you all the best for your future together!

Philip&Babs - 1st Half

image

Hi everyone, so we are ever drawing nearer to the one day where everything is supposed to stop. Where you sit down and open some well thought out gifts, some not so well thought out gifts, eat too much food, and basically fall asleep on the sofa with a big toasty fire lit… Before we all stop for the day I have a little wedding to share by specific request of the bride, as there are lots of people waiting to see her photographs from the big day… Babs and Philip had a a big crowd of friends, dedicated fans you might say, waiting outside in the pouring rain to catch a glimpse of this wedding.

Yes, it rained, but I don’t think there was a moment where Babs wasn’t smiling the whole day. She is one tough cookie, the rain didn’t bother her in the slightest and the bridesmaids and groomsmen were all the same. No complaints whatsoever. When I was setting up the bridal photos, Babs just shouted, “don’t worry it”l dry”… Most brides tend to have a freak out at the thought of the dress they were once getting one speck of dirt on it.. Babs is my kind of bride..

This was a very special day for Philip and Babs, and I hope you enjoy the first half of this lovely wedding…

Jonny&Stacey - Merchant Wedding 2

image

The second half of Stacey and Jonnys day just carried on being as wonderful as the first. This was one of those weddings that Ricky and I look back on a just feel so good about it. We were so welcomed on this wedding day, we were invited to be part of it along with Jonny and Stacey, and they both checked up on us every so often to make sure we were ok. We were so happy to be involved in this day, and you can see why when you see how beautiful everything was…

Stacey, I really wish I had been one of your bridesmaids, those dresses are to die for, seriously, they go down on my favourites list… :) Beautiful…

image

image

image

image

Stacey you are beautiful…

image

image

Jonny, Stacey is a lucky lady, not only are you very handsome, you are one of the most genuine and lovely grooms we have ever met. You were an absolute treat to work with…

image

image

image

image

Stacey and Jonnys favours were a mix tape(cd) soundtrack of their day. The music choices on this day, really just added to the whole atmosphere of the day. We love our music, so we totally appreciated the drive home listening to this… <3

image

image

It’s quite simple for us, we genuinely think you two are brilliant. WE were the lucky ones to have been chosen by you and we can only thank you for allowing us to be so involved in your wedding day… We hope this isn’t the end of our TEN21/Millar team…

Thank- you

Jonny&Stacey - Merchant Hotel Wedding

image

When a blog starts off with a pair of Jimmy Choos you know it might just be a good one… This wedding is one of those we have looked back through and just got that warm fuzzy feeling. Stacey&Jonny are another one of those wee couples who will be holding hands until they are ninety years old…

Their day was such a day of timeless beauty, Staceys simple yet elegant dress looked like it was just made for her, her wee tiny figure made us all jealous, even Ricky ;)

Jonny looked so handsome, I think he is a bit of an Olly Murs lookalike however, he strongly disagreed, on the basis that Olly Murs wears ridiculously skinny trousers for his masculine thighs.. I was merely referring to your face Jonny ;) Regardless, you both looked just delightful, a really well planned genuine day…

I honestly think the bridesmaids dresses were the nicest I have came across yet, I rang my sister on the day of the wedding and shouted down the phone “Oh my word, if you had seen these dresses you would have picked them”. (p.s. I loved our wee dresses Steph)

I shall leave you all to enjoy the first half of Stacey&Jonnys big day. It is so chilly today, I can’t even feel my toes.. hopefully it will give you a little warm fuzzy feeling too…

Garth&Elaine Belfast Engagement

As it is the 1st of December and everyone seems to be chatting about Christmas, I thought I would blog a little Christmassy Belfast session for you all…

This was our first meeting with Garth &Elaine, as they are very busy and talented people. Both very much into their music, Garth is a composer and Elaine is a singer/musician. They wanted something with a bit of atmosphere about it for their engagement session, so what better time of year than the Christmas buzz. The continental market had just opened the day before the scheduled session, so after doing a few more intimate shots at Ten Square Hotel, we headed on over. We wanted to get the real feeling of the market, so the best time to go is in the evening when all the little lights are a twinkling. We explained to Garth and Elaine about images in low light, and the quality and it was no bother to them as they wanted atmosphere! Dream clients? Ah oui oui…

So here they are, looking mighty fine.. We hope you enjoy…

We loved meeting you and it’s very obvious we are going to have a great day together on your wedding day…

Gary&Jayne Dublin City Engagement

image

We enjoyed this day so much with Gary and Jayne, it was the first time we really got a chance to get to know Jayne that wee bit better…

I went to university with Gary where we shared lifts i.e.: Gary forced me to go to uni by collecting me each morning. We sailed to uni listening to the dulcet tones of The Kings of Leon everyday, and before we knew it, it was over. Time for a reality check, where we all got jobs (some of us quicker than others) and this is where Garys destiny awaited him…

The beautiful Jayne was in Ballymena looking for a brand spanking new phone, little did she know, that not only was she going to get a wonderful new piece of technology, but she was going to find one of the most lovely wonderful boyfriends there was on offer…

He is now her Fiance and their relationship has developed deeper through all their weekend visits to Dublin City where we went with them to some of the places that mean a lot to them including the spot at the very end where Jayne said “yes”…

Have a little look and we hope you enjoy…

Gary and Jayne, I just love this photograph of you two. It is so obvious to us, our group of friends and everyone around you, that you are meant to be together. From the little looks Jayne gives Gary to pull him back in when he’s being silly and the constant love and affection that you have for each other, it’s just like the world stands still for you two sometimes..

(oh the cheese I know Gary, but in case you didn’t notice I am a bit of a softy) :)

We cannot wait to be involved in your wedding day and we thank you both so much for choosing us to give you the memories to hold on to forever….

YOU’RE GETTING MARRIED - AHHHH!!

A little change of plans...

Hello,

This is a little blogpost just explaining a little something that I feel we have to do to catch up with our blogging. I love love love blogging our wee brides weddings as it just allows them to appreciate their big day and get that wee exciting feeling back as it tells the story of their day, however as I am sure you all know, we are definitely more than a little behind….

I feel the blog has to represent the moment we are currently in, therefore, if I was to blog more of my summer weddings it just won’t sit well as it is now so chilly and the light and everything is so different. So we have made a wee decision to update our summer weddings through a few of our favourite images on our Facebook Page…

We will then just start from scratch on the blog with a few more Autumn/Winter shoots that just make a bit more sense for the here and now :)

I hope you all understand, and to the brides that aren’t blogged, we loved your weddings and wish we could do a little write up, blogging takes me a phenomenally long amount of time and it is time that I unfortunately cannot afford right now..

We will try to get our little Dublin engagement blogged today :)

What would a photography blog be without a photo, so here is something random..

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

The Gilbert Family

At the end of September we headed down to the home of the lovely Gilbert family. We had been down very close to these guys a few months before, as they live next door to Riverdale (featured in Alex and Gareths Wedding, click here to see more). We got started and began to shoot in the great green areas surrounding their home. Picking apples, walking through their own forest, and hanging out in their barn…we had a lot of fun on this shoot, meeting the Gilberts and not forgetting little Tilly aswell!

Enjoy.

image

The lovely Tilly, who is really quite ill and has give Kerry and her parents a fright a few times but she survived for the photoshoot :)

Fresh brambley apples in your garden, regularly made in to tasty apple pies we were told…yum

The forest beside the Gilberts house was planted and has been maintained by Kerrys Dad for a good few years now. He’s very proud of it…as he should be!

The monkey puzzle tree which Kerry has measured her height against ever since she was a little girl….

It seems its a small world after all, the Gilberts heard of us through a family friend, whose daughters is having us for her wedding photographers, we look forward to see in gut Gilberts again. Thank you for welcoming us into your home, and allowing us to give you these memories of your family… We hope that these images will give your a little snapshot of how your life was at this moment in time….

Happily Ever After

image

Hi everyone, just a little blogpost in search of the perfect couple for my Happily Ever After session portfolio. We would love to build up our portfolio of these little sessions now that we have more time to offer them…

image

A few little questions to see if you are what we are looking for, we would love to do happily ever after sessions for everyone, but as you can imagine we are looking for something specific to show how amazing these sessions can be..

Are you willing to get back into your dress and do you have a willing husband who is happy to get back into his suit?

Are you a couple with individual style?

Would you like to try something different than the norm with hair and makeup?

Are you happy enough to get your dress a bit boggin’? We don’t want you to “trash” it as such.

Would you be open to the idea of us styling you a little?

Can you be available at the drop of a hat if the snow shows its face, (i.e.: a couple of days notice probably a Sunday)?

image

We would love to hear from you if the answer to all the questions above is yes. If you think you are what we are looking for please or you know someone who you think is ideal send us a little email to info@tentwentyone.co.uk with the subject being “happily ever after” and attach a photo of yourselves from your wedding day..

image

This is not a competition, it is not a way to gain more “likes” or “readers” to our page etc it is literally for us to have the best images possible to widen our Happily Ever After portfolio. The session will be free of charge (terms and conditions do apply).

We realise a lot of people are not happy with their wedding photographs, or they didn’t get the weather on their big day and would love to show them that it is not the end of the world….

Can’t wait to hear from you…

The Kerr Family

image

image

So it is definitely about time there was a family session on the blog, we have a few more to blog but this one has been waiting for a wee while now. We went with the Kerr family to Glenariff Forest, the weather couldn’t have been any better. We genuinely had a lovely time with these guys. You may wonder where you recognise two of these handsome chaps from and thats because they were groomsmen on Stephanie and Stevens wedding. Gabby(Gareth) had asked about getting a little family session organised mainly for his mum to have some lovely photos of them all together…

So here it is, the Kerr family…

image

Sally you are absolutely gorgeous…

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Wee Bruce was not paying attention to anything at the shoot, just wandering around investigating like all good pups do. Until he discovered some scary man under a bench in the forest… he was a bit wary.

image

A very proud mum I am sure, she has four pretty handsome chaps by her side…

image

This is Theo, he is a bit of a Diva… but ever so handsome.

image

Caitlin and Adam are so in love, and I see a lot of love, but this almost tips me over the edge… haha

image

Wee Theo and Bruce are wondering what the heck Big Phil was at in these photos, very confused.

Thank-you for asking us to be part of a few wee memories for you all, it was an absolute pleasure…

Keith&Kathryn - 2nd Half

So Friday is here at long last, another busy week for TEN21 and although we haven’t been very present on the blog, we are working our butts off. We are just spending this month trying to get a lot of bits and bobs ready for all our clients. Although we haven’ been blogging much, I realise that the delay in blogs has been quite a nice feeling for our bride and grooms, getting to relive the excitement of the day all over again. When we send out the galleries, the initial excitement is there to see the wedding photos, but it soon passes when looking at one image over and over again. Weddings really come to life when they are shown on the blog, we get to put them together in a way that really shows how the day was. There is a so much more feeling that when scrolling through lots of images..

So here we have it, another wedding story.. the second half of Kathryn&Keiths wedding.

Enjoy.. x

image

image

image

image

Kathryn, I know you will be wondering where this image came from as it wasn’t in your final edits but I found it and loved how out of focus it was, I have a feeling you will love it, so it is on the blog… <3

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Kathryn is literally a girl after my own heart, I am totally aware this will be me on my own wedding day, making sure I have enough memories to tide me over the future years. We really just let Kathryn do her own thing on the day, and I am so glad because this is her…

image

image

image

image

It’s wee photos like this that melt your heart even when you don’t know the people in them I think…

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Kathryn&Keith we love your stern skills… <3

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

A little polaroid (fuji) guestbook, Kathryn had stocked up on lots of film throughout the year to lessen the sting. I know this is something she will treasure forever, as would I even though it’s not mine, I literally love film that much.

image

image

Guess who’s table setting this was? Who needs food…

image

A wee football joke jag!! Welcome to the family Keith…

image

I have to officially congratulate Matthew for his wonderful speech on the wedding day, it had everyone laughing and crying. This is a boy with a big heart and it shone through how much he totally loves his family :)

image

image

image

image

image

To put it simply, if my wedding day is anything like this one, it will be perfect. There was so much thought put into it, but not just for Kathryn&Keith, for the family and friends who were there to share in the day. I don’t think there was a minute for anyone to become bored. Ricky and I honestly should have been shattered having had a couple of weddings in a row but we had so much fun and we were on the ball until our heads hit pillows.

Keith&Kathryn, I honestly hope this is not the end for K&K/TEN21 we have loved getting to know you throughout the whole wedding process. We honestly consider you friends not just clients, it has been FANTASTIC!!!!

Ben&Amy Botanic Gardens

Blog time! Its Ben and Amys turn this time. We met Ben and Amy at the Ulster Museum , and headed down into the great, autumn kissed, Botanic Gardens. They literally came straight after they finished work so we were working against the clock for light. We even got a few after the light was completely gone…

The trees and flowers gave us some great colours to work with, we love autumn for the rich colours it brings, not so much the freezing temperatures though! We headed on towards Stranmillis to the spot where Ben proposed to Amy, its always great going with couples back to the spot where she said yes, and hearing the story of how the proposal played out.

So have a wee look through their engagement session and enjoy.

Keith&Kathryn - 1st Half

image

Time for another little wedding blog, by request of the bride.

You are probably all wondering where our blog has gone, you can see lots of little sneaky peeks and yet no full blogs. We are trying really hard to catch up on all our editing before spending anymore time blogging. It is of number one importance to us to get everything up to date and send all our wee brides their wedding photos. Then when we have some time, we can’t wait to share everything we have be up to this year…

Kathryn&Keiths wedding was one which we had anticipated since we met them. I know that Ricky and I can honestly hand on heart say that we really loved every detail in this wedding. Not only that, but the people involved were the most welcoming and genuine people… I arrived at the house in the morning and the first thing Kathryns dad did for me, was make me a fresh scrummy bacon buttie along with a cup of tea. He was keeping me fuelled for the day.. I don’t often get instructed to sit down and eat, as I am usually running around photographing all the little details but Kathryns dad insisted I did…

I know Ricky had a laugh with the boys in the morning, a casual stroll across the road and Ricky was at his destination for morning photographs. The girls had a screening of “Father of The Bride” the night before the wedding, the boys - “Runaway Bride”

Anyways, enough chatting and more looking. I hope you all enjoy the first half of this beautiful wedding…

image

image

image

A family friend made Kathryns dress. A one off, beautiful! And the detail was gorgeous, if i remember right, the beaded fabric came all the way from London :)  How wonderful to have a unique dress for the most special day in your life…

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Keith had printed out his vows a little bigger so he could read/memorise them without his glasses for the big moment… <3

image

image

13 Aug - Words dream and a million screams…

To my darling wife to be…

I’d be absolutely honoured if you fancied joining me up the road at a wee church around 12.

Please wear something stunning make yourself look gorgeous, and prepare to spend the rest of your life with… me!

Love you,

Hubby to be xoxo

(Oh my word, romance is not dead) *melt

And so, Kathryn followed Keiths instructions to a tee…

image

image

image

image

image

We weren’t allowed to shoot in the church (much to our disappointment, check out the light) So we got a few wee sneaky ones…

image

image

image

image

image

Please come back and have a wee peak at the second half of this gorgeous wedding, we went to Kathryns home to have some family/bridal photos then the reception was held at The Merchant…
